Palace Square
The central city square of St. Petersburg and of the former Russian Empire. Many significant events took place there, including the Bloody Sunday massacre and parts of the October Revolution of 1917.

House of Books
House of Books (also known as Singer House) is a richly decorated building erected in the Art Nouveau style. There you can shop for travel guide books in different languages, books by Russian authors in English and a wide range of cute postcards and souvenirs.

Savior on the Spilled Blood Church
It’s one of the most impressive and beautiful buildings in St. Petersburg. Russian Emperor Alexander II was assassinated on this place. Later, the church was built to commemorate his memory.

Square of Arts & Russian Museum
The museum houses the biggest collection of Russian art of X-XXI centuries.

The Catherine Garden
Have a look at the monument to Catherine the Great, Russian empress who wasfamous not only for performing wise governmental improvements, but for having acountless army of lovers. You will also see the Alexander Theatre (one of the oldestin Russia).

The 2nd Day in Saint P
Peter and Paul Fortress
Start your day in the very heart of Saint Petersburg. Peter and Paul Fortress is considered to be the birthplace of the city. Visit Peter and Paul Cathedral where all the Russian Tsars are buried. If you wish to scare your travel companion, you should aim to arrive a little before 12 pm, as a loud cannon shot can be heard each day at noon and can really be quite unexpected.
Location: Hare Island (Zayachiy Island). From “Gorkovskaya” metro station – across Alexandrovskiy Park in the direction of Troitskiy Bridge (10 min walk)

The Spit of Vasilievsky Island
Cross the Birzhevoy Bbridge over to Vasilievsky Island. It is one of the most beautiful spots in Saint Petersburg. This architectural complex includes the Rostral Columns and the Stock Exchange Building.
Kunstkamera
It is the very first museum opened in Russia (Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography). Get thrilled by its creepy anatomic collection.

The Bronze Horseman
The Bronze Horseman portrays Peter the Great (the founder of Saint Petersburg). Here another great opportunity presents itself to have a photo taken in front of this iconic symbol of the city. You may notice the snake under the horse’s feet, was intended to represent the enemies of the Russian Empire.
St Isaac's Cathedral
Get on top of the 4th world’s largest cathedral. It’s the best viewpoint of the city. When buying a ticket, choose the one to the colonnaded walkway.
